Setting sail: Wajer alongside the legends of SAIL Amsterdam

Every five years, Amsterdam transforms into one of the world’s most spectacular stages for maritime heritage.
SAIL Amsterdam returns this summer, a rare event where time slows down and history sails by, quite literally. Towering tall ships from across the globe enter the city’s waters in majestic formation.
Among the iconic vessels making their way through Amsterdam’s historic waters, a fleet of Wajers will also be present - joining the iconic SAIL-In in quiet contrast. Where the tall ships tell stories of centuries past, Wajer represents the future of Dutch design on the water.
A floating museum comes to life
Since its first edition in 1975, SAIL Amsterdam has grown into a global celebration of maritime heritage, attracting millions of visitors to the Dutch capital. But its roots go deeper - anchored in the Netherlands’ historic relationship with the sea. This is a nation built by water and for water, and Sail is its grand tribute to that legacy.
Dozens of tall ships arrive from international ports to join Dutch classics, forming a floating museum on the water. From full-rigged ships to brigs and schooners, many of these vessels are over a century old. The Sail-In itself is the emotional high point: a maritime parade unlike any other, rich with symbolism, tradition, and national pride.

Looking back at SAIL 2015

A front-row seat on the water
What’s the only thing better than watching SAIL? Being part of it. A select group of Wajer owners will join the SAIL-In in formation, navigating alongside these historic giants as the city stirs to life.
From the helm of a Wajer, the perspective is unmatched: sails towering above the skyline, Amsterdam unfolding in the distance, and the electric atmosphere of every ship around. It’s a vantage point few ever experience: not just observing SAIL, but becoming part of its living history.
