The Wajer Winter Retreat

As Europe nestled in for the cold winter months, Wajers from across the continent embarked on a so-called ‘Winter Retreat.’
While the warm months are spent cruising the European coastlines, the colder season is essential in making sure each Wajer remains in peak condition through carefully planned care and maintenance.
The importance of winter storage
Winter storage is not just about parking a yacht in a secure location. It’s a carefully managed process ensuring each yacht is in top condition for the next season. At Wajer, we go beyond standard maintenance by offering a seamless, full-service experience.
Our winter storage facilities are located in prime locations across Europe, including France, Spain, and, of course, the Netherlands. We take care of the entire transport process, safely relocating each yacht to its designated winter berth. We handle everything so owners don’t have to worry about a thing.

Maintenance and inspection
Before the season ends, our summer and winter teams work closely together to create a detailed maintenance plan. Each yacht is assessed individually, and owners receive a personalized review of the necessary work before the yacht goes into storage.
We start with a thorough inspection of the hull, looking for any potential issues before they become larger problems. The heart of any yacht, the engine, undergoes a comprehensive check and necessary servicing to ensure optimal reliability and performance when it’s time to set sail again. Our technicians also conduct detailed checks of the electrical system, verifying that all components, ranging from navigation systems to onboard lightning, function correctly. To maintain the yacht's aesthetic appeal, both the interior and exterior are given a deep clean, preventing the buildup of dirt or salt from previous voyages.
Looking ahead
By the time spring arrives, each Wajer will be primed and ready to hit the water, with everything running smoothly for another unforgettable season.
