A significant milestone for Wajer was the introduction of our redesigned Wajer 38 S, our first yacht powered by outboard motors.

To honor this advancement and our collaboration with Mercury Marine, we brought the 38 S to Lake X - the site where Mercury's powerful V10 outboards were developed. Equipped with triple Mercury Verado V10 engines, the 38 S returned to these historic waters to undergo a series of performance benchmarks.

A legendary testing ground

Deep in the heart of Florida's wilderness lies Lake X, Mercury Marine's legendary and once top-secret testing facility. Surrounded by shallow mangroves and alligators, this secluded lake has been the birthplace of numerous marine innovations.

Lake X was established in the 1950s as Mercury Marine’s secret testing facility. This natural lake provided an ideal environment for testing high-performance engines in real-world conditions.

The lake’s isolation allowed for rigorous, uninterrupted testing, and its legacy as a birthplace of innovation is undeniable. Though no longer a secret, Lake X remains a symbol of Mercury’s commitment to excellence, continuing to shape the future of marine technology.

Performance testing

At Lake X, we ran a full set of performance tests to measure the yacht’s handling, speed, and maneuverability. The results were outstanding. The Wajer 38 S easily handled tight turns and powered through open water effortlessly. The Mercury Verado V10 engines provided strong acceleration and top speeds, proving the perfect match for our high standards of design and craftsmanship.

"Your choice of the V10 was spot on. It's our premium engine, known for its reliability and refinement - qualities that are especially important when used as a superyacht tender."

The perfect match

Our collaboration with Mercury Marine is built on a shared passion for cutting-edge technology, design, and performance. By integrating their advanced outboard engines with Wajer’s sleek design, we have created a yacht that redefines luxury boating.

"We're currently developing several new projects, including some outboard boats. The 44 S and 44 HT are up next. The future is looking bright!"
