First Wajer 38 S with Outboard Engines

Cannes, September 10, 2024 – Wajer Yachts presents its first model with outboard engines at the Cannes Yachting Festival. This is a striking development, as all existing Wajer yachts have always been equipped with Volvo Penta IPS inboard engines. The Wajer 38 S now makes it possible to navigate shallow waters or even beach the boat. In addition to the new (optional) engine configuration, the Wajer 38 S has also received a design update. The solid and larger roof immediately stands out, and the cockpit and console have also been redesigned.

High-Speed Sailing
The sporty version of the Wajer 38 can now be equipped with outboard engines instead of the trusted Volvo Penta IPS system. With three 5.7-liter 400 HP V10 Mercury Verado engines, the 38 S reaches a top speed of 55 knots, making it the first Wajer to exceed 100 km/h. Notably, the steering is extremely agile, the acceleration is immense, and the boat is significantly lighter due to a 500 kg weight reduction.
The joystick (with Skyhook digital anchor, which holds the boat in place via GPS) used for easy docking can also be used with these engines, as can the autopilot function.

New Look
The roof has been enlarged to create more shade, and the solid, slightly angled supports are particularly striking. Optionally, integrated solar panels can be installed on the roof to charge the motor batteries.

The cockpit of the Wajer 38 S has also been updated, featuring a new dashboard with two Garmin screens that control the boat. Behind the two helm seats, there is now a wet bar, similar to the Wajer 55 S and Wajer 44 S, complete with a sink and faucet, refrigerator, trash bin, and storage space.

A swim ladder allows easy access to the boat from the water via the stern. Optionally, a side door can be configured for easier boarding.

Dries Wajer, Managing Director, stated, "We are receiving increasing demand from the United States for the option of outboard engines. Outboard motors are an integral part of American boating culture, and they make navigating shallow waters, for example, much easier. We took this opportunity to also upgrade the boat's design. The result is a robust and versatile boat that feels luxurious thanks to the new design.”
